The Piranha GTI is a simple, blowback paintball gun that will make a reliable first gun for any aspiring paintball player. Its simple reliability makes it an excellent choice for new paintballers or whoever wants a hassle-free paintball gun.
Note: The GTI is the base model that the GTI+ or GTI+ Rampage are based on.
Design
Piranha paintball guns have long been known as reliable blowbacks and the GTI is no exception to the standard they have set. It has a simple aluminum body with some basic milling, accompanied by a polymer trigger and 45 grip. It is a Spyder-clone complete with Spyder threading and many of the internals are compatible with other stacked-tube blowbacks, so upgrades on replacement parts are not a problem. One thing that I really like is its quick-strip pin and how easy it is to access the internals with no tools.
Performance
The GTI has an easy, if somewhat long, trigger pull and its double trigger can come in handy. It has decent accuracy and does fine shooting almost any kind of recreation-grade paintball with minimal chopping.
Maintenance
The GTI only asks for a little bit of oil and an occasional new o-ring. Other than springs eventually losing some of their power (especially if you leave your gun cocked for long periods), there really isn’t any regular maintenance. A complete breakdown to access every component can be done in less than 5 minutes.
Pros
InexpensiveReliableSimple
Cons
Very BasicMinimal Upgrades
Description
Stacked-tube Blowback Paintball GunSpyder-Threaded BarrelsCan run on CO2 or Compressed AirCenter-Fed Feedneck
Conclusion
The GTI seems like the same reliable product as other Pirhanas with a new name and some slightly updated designs. Its simple reliability makes it an excellent choice for new paintballers or whoever wants a hassle-free paintball gun.
